Shropshire boasts an abundant culture and heritage sector as well as vibrant rural, leisure, visitor economies that support numerous independent shops, restaurants and delicatessens.

Shrewsbury Food Festival

The Shrewsbury Food Festival is an essential stop for foodies. Each year, this annual event showcases an impressive line-up of food and beverage exhibitors as well as cooking demonstrations, plus an enticing BBQ stage where visitors can indulge in mouthwatering grilled delicacies. Furthermore, free children’s entertainment and an oversized screen for viewing the World Cup make this festival ideal for families.

This festival hosts over 200 independent stalls offering food, drink, homeware and garden items for sale. The organisers strive to promote high-quality products while offering visitors an impressive variety of food and drinks; additionally they seek to teach young people the value of eating healthily while upholding local heritage.

This year’s event is expected to draw over 25,000 attendees, offering everything from celebrity chef demonstrations and family-oriented activities, to celebrity chef demonstrations from Jean-Christophe Novelli (former “Hell’s Kitchen”) himself to Andrew Birch and Great British Menu contestant Stuart Collins and Haughmond head chef Gareth Howarth from Haughmond Estate.
