As dog owners ourselves, we know that a family holiday isn’t complete without your four-legged friends. At Acorn Lodge, we don’t just tolerate dogs; we welcome them. Located on the beautiful Staffordshire/Shropshire border, our home offers the perfect combination of luxury living for humans and outdoor freedom for pets.
Secure Grounds & Endless Walks
Forget loading the car for the morning walk. We are situated right next to Maer Forest and The Burntwood, giving you direct access to miles of stunning woodland trails the moment you step out of the gate. It is a true paradise for dogs who love to explore.
VIP Treatment for Your Four-Legged Friends
- A special basket containing spare bowls, a feeding mat, biodegradable poop bags, and specific canine towels.
- A dedicated outdoor dog wash area near the back door, featuring a hot and cold mixer tap—perfect for a warm rinse after a winter walk in Maer Forest.
- A canister fully stocked with doggie treats.
- Freshly laundered dog throws (so they can snuggle without worrying about the furniture) and dog beds available upon request.
- A selection of dog toys and a spare lead, just in case one gets left behind.
Pet Policy & House Etiquette
- We welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs by prior agreement. Please ensure they are listed on your booking.
- All visiting dogs must be fully house-trained.
- Dogs are welcome in the downstairs communal areas but are not permitted upstairs or in any of the bedrooms. Stairgates are available upon request.
- We prefer dogs to stay off the furniture. However, if they are used to sofa snuggles at home, please use the protective throws provided.
- Please ensure the garden is kept clean. All waste must be bagged immediately and disposed of in the dedicated outdoor bin.
- After exploring the local woodlands, please clean muddy dogs using the outdoor wash station and the specific dog towels provided.
- Please never use the white/grey human bath towels for your pets.
- We are surrounded by beautiful rural land and livestock. Please keep dogs under close control or on a lead when walking in the countryside.
- Dogs must not be left unattended in the property at any time.
