Brocton Hall Golf Club lies at the heart of Staffordshire and was established in 1894, moving to its current site in 1923. Established by Harry Vardon as an 18 hole parkland course with mature trees and attractive water features that offer an enjoyable golfing experience, Brocton Hall offers something special. It offers competitive yet enjoyable rounds for golfers of all skill levels to compete against each other on this tranquil course – and its current site provides it in full glory.

The clubhouse is an impressive three storey building that combines modern facilities with an enchanting traditional atmosphere. When entering through its front door, golfers are welcomed into a Round Room originally part of William Chetwynd’s Manor House before it was demolished in 1760 to build the Hall that would remain in his family until sold to the club in 1923.

Golfers can relax by the cozy fireplace while watching television in the main lounge, which also hosts honour boards for Ladies’ and Men’s competitions. The 1894 Bar provides another venue where visitors are welcome to view honor boards for Ladies and Men’s Captains as well as finding their chairs – make your trip count!

At the heart of it all lies a fully stocked Pro Shop offering an assortment of merchandise and services, as well as a welcoming bar where guests can unwind over drinks or light bites. Enville Golfers are welcomed with open arms by the friendly staff who aim to make their experience at Enville special. Each member of staff dedicates themselves to Enville and can often be seen out on the course assisting members and visitors with enjoying its facilities.

Enville Golf Club was first established in 1935 with nine holes. Arthur Wrigglesworth expanded it to 18 in 1938; Horace Lewis then added four additional holes during 1940. By 1973 and 1983, Frank Pennink had added nine more. This gave us our current 36 hole venue with the Highgate and Lodge courses located nearby Stourbridge, Kidderminster, Wolverhampton; with Enville Common housing one course of Highgate course.

5. Blackwell Golf Club

Established in 1893, its founders established a constitution and ethos that have endured throughout its 127-year existence. As such, this club continues to extend a warm welcome to visitors as well as new members alike; and features an exceptional golf course featuring classic English designs with excellent course layout.

Water hazards add an extra level of difficulty and enjoyment when playing this excellent course, from having to carry over 200 yards from the back tee on hole 9 through dodging bunkers on green complex 13 at 13th hole, as well as par fives like 4th, 8th, 11th & 17th which present formidable challenges, leading to memorable finishes like 18th hole which features narrow green sloping right up against club house for final shot!

At present, the club is undertaking an ambitious master plan remodelling initiative, to restore the original Herbert Fowler and Tom Simpson design principles. This work includes widening fairways, clearing trees away and opening up aprons and green surrounds; additionally they have hired a team to restore bunkering to help bring new life back into this fine course. Their practice facilities are top notch while the clubhouse itself boasts modern features.
